The app may be fine, but customer service is sorely lacking. Double billing, no ability to merge accounts, just an overall horrible company to deal with. Stay away from

Finding not easy to navigate. Map is not easy to place fence where I want it. Not able to determine if correct for me. Looks like this is more designed for larger area tracking , not rural situation. Just unable to determine where fence actually is. Disappointed

Love this app! Really wish the wellness and leaderboard had a distance metric. It’s the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars.

Look no further, this tracker is the best. It is super easy to set up and use and the best part is when your dog runs off it only takes seconds to find him on your phone. It connects to the satellite and has live instantaneous updates. Takes all the worry out of your furry friend “exploring”. We’ve used it in several areas and it works great!

At times I enjoy finding my pet but often find it difficult to understand and monitor, where she is. Sometimes even alarming, when she disappears from view. I wish it was more detailed as to how to operate & wish it had some alarm to the pet to come home.

I really like the location history function; unfortunately lately you can only review the history from now to now. Not sure what update changed it but, it lost some coolness.

Love the tracker. Does a good job for my cat. Wish you could interact with people on the app (like on the local leader board).

It’s probably me, but I can’t make the tracker work

I am so very pleased with this GPS tracker. So much I’m on my 2nd one!!!!

I live on a 2 acre lot which is only partially fenced. My German shepherd tends to mostly stay in the yard but this thing is awesome, in that I setup a virtual fence and it alerts me if she starts venturing off the property. This way I can hang inside and she can be in the yard without me worrying about where she’s going. I can see where she is at all times, on my iPhone.

This is the most accurate tracker I have found so far. I feel a bit better about my cat roaming the neighborhood knowing I can track him down if I need to.

Highly recommend this has saved my butt finding my cat! I live in the country which means it can be harder to track. Thankfully he has been found each time. Could not recommend more; yall! BUY with confidence!! Worth the money.

My handsome 14-year-old boy Titan faces challenges with hyperthyroidism and early onset CKD, but I’ve taken proactive steps to ensure his well-being. By tracking him as he explores the outdoors, I can know exactly where he is at all times. This enables me to guide him home to eat every two hours and stay hydrated. It’s been the best purchase ever! I only wish I had made this decision sooner!

The power saving zones feature is buggy and makes using any other feature useless. If you have a large piece of property and a decent wi-fi router, just forget about any level of accuracy. My dogs can be several hundred feet to near a quarter mile from my house, get a whiff of wi-fi signal, and the tracker assumes they are at home. Then, since they are power saving, but bluetooth and live tracking are either disabled or insanely buggy. The fact that there is no way to force a live mode feature to manually disconnect from power saving or wi-fi featured is dang near criminal for how much these systems cost. If you are looking for a decent tracker, best of luck, there are better ones with much much better customer support options out there.

Cannot call the company!!!

We are living close to a big national park with mostly 3G coverage. On the periphery I have 5G. Tractive is working great when I have 5G, it is not working with 3G. I can’t track my dogs reliably and I will have to buy a system that is not phone based.

Note I’ve only had these for less than a week as of this review. The proximity noise from the device is barely noticeable, and you need to provide a buffer for the safe zone as GPS isn’t perfect. However so far I’ve been able to keep my pets safe when they get out…which is the exact reason I made the purchase.

I’ve updated my device. However, the gps will say my cat is next door when she is directly next to me. I’ve tested this multiple times, and the accuracy of the device is not 100 percent. Not even 5 percent….

So far, I’ve been thrilled with Tractive to keep my dogs from gallivanting around the neighborhood like the trollops they are. They aren’t nearly as happy, but at least they are alive and unhappy. The GPS response time is lacking, though, and even though I’m in a rural setting, it should be much faster. I hope this improves. I also feel obligated to mention that with the update I did today, what used to work fine now seems iffy. I like that it seems like I no longer have to activate Love mode, but the collar for my small dog didn’t update for four minutes and that’s a problem. I would also like to see more consistency across each collar when it comes to features. The large collar has different options than the small.

I cannot change the notification or turn the volume up. It gives the same notification that every other text message, etc gets. It’s easy to miss that my dog has run off

The product itself is a great concept, but I cannot get the radar nor live tracking to work. Sometimes the sound/light doesn’t even work when I activate. The live tracking is always inaccurate, and the radar requires you to be level with the collar for it to be accurate. I’ve had it for a few years and it’s just so impossible to use the app properly. I would be so upset if my cats got lost with this collar and I couldn’t pinpoint them due to how glitchy and not user friendly it is. I would suggest a new app interface that has a more seamless process and simple ways to do the actions. It’s pretending it’s doing sound/light and it doesn’t actually unless you’re RIGHT on top of it. Plus it’s too faint to hear if you aren’t anyways.

I decided to upgrade this from the Apple AirTag. It has a much larger range. It has a light option that you could see him at night time, which is good and it also has an alarm that can go off. You gotta estimate the fee. It’s not completely accurate it might be off by 20 feet or so Overall, I highly recommend.

Everyone knows how huskies are little escape artists and this is the perfect tool for them. I love being able to see where he is in live time and love going hiking with the peace of mind of knowing where he is if he goes off on his own little adventure. It’s also great seeing his sleep and activity levels!

Tractive has been wonderful. The tracker as well as the software/app are easy to use, and very accurate. Love the live view… thanks to Tractive we’ve been able to find our little escape artist within minutes.

Well worth the money

To activate the tracker you have to pay from 120 for every year to 300 for 5 years every year and their is a 8.25% tax which makes adds 25 dollars and it is 40 just to order it.

I just want to be able to see where my dog is. The app works fine for that. But it keeps booting up and locking in screens to ask me to set up fitness goals for my dog. I KNOW how far we hike. This is ridiculous!! I have to delete the app and reinstall it to see the map screen and then by the end of the day do the same thing all over. I’m planning to return the tracker and get another brand.

For the love of Pete can we please get the ability to start live tracking while in a power saving zone? I shouldn’t have to have to disable my SSID every time I want to track my pet close to my house!

I don’t like that the minimum subscription term is one year. I would prefer a short term plan because I only need it when my dog is staying with a sitter

Update: 4/7/2025, I found a couple of other issues that are frustrating me. I still think this is a really good system, beyond the fact that the notification is too quiet and not adjustable, I find that sometimes my dog is CLOSE to the SAFE ZONE I have set for him, and the system won’t allow me to track or beep him unless his has passed the SAFE ZONE barrier. I know he’s on his way out, and would like STOP him immediately. Also, there is a frustrating lag time. Sometimes I KNOW (I know because I can see him, and sometimes I have been walking him and watched him) he has gone outside the SAFE ZONE and the system still tells me he’s still in the safe zone. I want to know immediately, so I can beep him right away. I updated the ap before adding these comments, hoping for improvement, but none of these problems were addressed. Why can’t these things be done? These changes would make this ap so much more effective. That would give it 5 stars. We have found this tracker/ap does exactly what we needed. It lets us know if our dog goes too far from our property, and (assuming I see or hear the warning) I can call the dog and literally watch him coming home. The problem is, and it’s a pretty big problem, the warning sound is very quiet, and is not changeable. Even if I have the phone with me or right next to me, if there is anything noisy going on at all, I can’t hear it. I have to hope I SEE it. It can’t be a difficult programming issue to be able to use the phone’s ringer options. Please do this.

Comparing to AirTags, Tractive tracker is a hundred percent win. Now I know where my cat goes and which part of the fenced yard isn’t isolated enough for her to squeeze out 😁

This app & GPS tracker are very good. I always know where Yoshi is. Discovered today that he’s using the storm drain system to travel the neighborhood. Avoiding having to cross any streets.

Slow response from gps

Being able to locate when your dog sneaks off for a walk by themselves, is great to know which direction to follow. Daily activity tracker is good to know we need another walk.

We have used tracker for the last 2+ years for our two dogs and one cat. Historically, it was very good. Once in a while it wouldn’t update as frequently as we would like, so we didn’t know when the dogs left the yard, but we could track them down pretty quickly once the tracker updated as out of safe zone. Unfortunately, when we added another tracker for a new kitty it just simply hasn’t worked right. The new one’s battery has almost 0 life and nearly useless. Looking at the history for both cats, the older cat travels a lot further outside of the home area way more frequently and for longer durations, the older tracker battery typically has lasted longer and I could quickly locate him even under the tree cover all year round. The new tracker hardly works at all. I have disconnected the tracker and reset the power, saving zone and nothing improves. Both cats can be together and the newer tracker shows offline. It just has horrible connectivity and burns up battery. Sometimes the tracker doesn’t even last two hours on a full charge. Now, the older trackers are performing poorly as well, maybe battery age? I have looked all over the FAQ’s with no luck and I tried reaching out to support a while back and zero response. I have rebooted our modem and router still no luck. I used to recommend Tractive to everyone I know with outdoor pets, now I tell them absolutely look at other options, they are not what they used to be. It’s so sad because they have helped me track my animals, reliably many times, but no more. Bottom line customer service is awful and there is no one to help when it’s not working.

I bought this 3 weeks ago for my Malinois X. I got the GPS XL. The accuracy is down to around 20 feet or so. I set my Geo Fence to mirror my property line. When she goes to the back fence, it shows her outside the “Safe Zone” and I showing her about 14-20 feet past the geo fence. Battery life is great. Yea, the device and subscribe a bit pricy in the beginning but it is very well worth it. I definitely recommend the attachment clips so you can attach the device to the collar. Not sure why they don’t come with it as it’s a necessity but they’re only a few dollars and you get a pack of 3.

Our Husky/GSD mix loves to chase things. Before Tractive we spent many an hour circling the neighborhood hollering her name. Now we get out the app and get her home in minutes.

My dog got away from me about 11:30pm. He took off down the road. Luckily, I was able to track him and have him in the truck in less than 5 minutes. Thank goodness for this tracker.

Really impressed with this product , the entire family enjoys watching our dog run the 80acres he has access to anytime . It’s became addictive watching where he goes when no one is around . Highly active hunting dog and have no had one issue with the product for what you pay .

We live on a small farm with family around us. I had to keep Loki chained when outside because he wants to visit when I don’t want him too. I hated that, I want him to run and explore, within reason. This tracker changed that! I can now let him out and monitor where he goes. I call him back home when he has left the virtual fence. My only complaint is the tracker is not as real time as I would like, often I get notification he left yard and he is pretty far already but I can see exactly where he is so that helps.

I liked using the “walk” activity to easily track the last time I took my pups out (the default activity history is kind of useless as it default shows all of the locations for the past 24 hours). Now I can’t track a walk activity without turning location services all the time! I get this might help precision, but I don’t want to allow location sharing even while not using the app.

Just ok. It’s great when it decides to work.

What a super piece of kit. It’s reliable and durable - many mountain bike rides and beach trips and it works so so well for tracking. Couldn’t recommend this more highly!!! If you want peace of mind and you also want to track your pooch this is the kit for your family

I adopted a runner bluetick hound / pit bull mix and she loves to escape and run. With this device I am able to find her easily if she manages to escape. Would highly recommend.

Got this tracker for my cat who roams outside. I wanted to see where she was going throughout the day. It works great and keeps track of Daisy very well! The collar has come off a couple of times, which I’ve since adjusted, and we were able to locate the collar quickly and easily. Love this and will buy another for my next cat.

i attached this to my kids coat when we visited NYC. works perfectly in subways, etc if worst case we got separated. hotspot history was fun to look at after the trip to remember where we went.

We live out in the middle of nowhere Montana with a hound that likes to be gone for 12+ hours at a time. It has been on him for 9 days now and still only at 56%. We are now able to track him where ever he is at anytime! Very handy!
